SAP ABAP Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Lead Developer to design, develop, and implement custom SAP ABAP solutions, ensuring high-quality deliverables and seamless integration with business processes. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust SAP solutions aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

·      Lead the design, development, and implementation of custom SAP ABAP programs, including reports (ALV), interfaces, conversions, enhancements (User Exits, Customer Exits, BADIs, and optionally BTEs, Enhancement Framework), and forms (RICEF objects) based on business requirements.

·      Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior ABAP developers, ensuring adherence to SAP best practices, coding standards, and project timelines.

·      Perform code reviews, troubleshoot, and resolve ABAP-related issues to optimize system performance and reliability.

·      Collaborate with functional teams and business stakeholders to analyze requirements, propose technical solutions, and ensure seamless SAP system integration.

·      Participate in project planning, estimation, and status reporting as required.

·      Conduct technical unit testing and ensure adherence to SAP best practices, coding standards, and change management processes throughout the software development lifecycle.

·      Ensure quality and consistency of deliverables through rigorous testing and validation.

·      Provide ABAP technical support for SAP upgrades, migrations, and patching activities by adapting or re-developing ABAP objects as needed.

·      Perform technical troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of ABAP-related issues to maintain optimal system performance and reliability.

·      Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, test scripts, and user manuals for ABAP developments.

Educational Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

·      6+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development, including RICEF objects and enhancement techniques (User Exits, Customer Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Framework, etc.).

·      Proven experience in leading ABAP development teams and mentoring junior developers.

·      Strong understanding of SAP modules and business processes.

·      Proficient in technical troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.

·      Experience with SAP upgrades, migrations, and patching activities.

·      Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
