Job Description – Oracle APEX Developer (5–8 Years Experience)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle APEX Developer with 5–8 years of professional experience to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications on Oracle Application Express (APEX). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of PL/SQL, database design, and UI/UX best practices. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and other developers to deliver scalable and secure solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance applications using Oracle APEX (latest versions).
  • Work with Oracle Database (SQL & PL/SQL) to create efficient data models, stored procedures, triggers, and packages.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
  • Integrate APEX applications with REST/SOAP web services, Oracle Fusion Cloud, and other enterprise systems.
  • Implement security best practices (authentication, authorization, session management, data masking).
  • Optimize performance of APEX applications, pages, and SQL queries.
  • Support testing cycles (unit, system, UAT) and assist with production deployments.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
  • Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews to maintain high coding standards.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle APEX (19.x or above preferred).
  • Strong expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and REST API integration within APEX.
  • Knowledge of APEX security features and performance tuning techniques.
  • Familiarity with APEX shared components (Interactive Reports, Interactive Grids, Charts, Dynamic Actions, etc.).
  • Experience in SDLC, Agile methodology, and working in collaborative environments (JIRA, Git, CI/CD preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and document solutions.


Good to Have

  • Experience integrating APEX with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), ERP systems (Oracle Fusion, EBS).
  • Exposure to Oracle BI Publisher, REST Data Services (ORDS), and JSON/XML processing.
  • Knowledge of DevOps pipelines and automated deployment for APEX applications.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure).


Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Oracle certifications in APEX or PL/SQL are a plus.
