Your work profile

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support enterprise-grade database platforms in on-premises environments. The candidate should have hands-on expertise in one or more of the following technologies: PostgreSQL (EDB), MongoDB (Enterprise), or Redis (Enterprise).

The role requires strong experience in clustering, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR), along with the ability to manage mission-critical production databases.

1.      General (Applicable to All DB Technologies)

• Install, configure, and administer databases in on-premises data centers.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of databases.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies.
• Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Monitor database health, performance, and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide root cause analysis (RCA).
• Implement and maintain security controls and access management.
• Document SOPs, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.

2.      PostgreSQL Responsibilities

• Manage PostgreSQL enterprise environments (community or enterprise variants).
• Configure and support:
  • Streaming Replication
  • Logical Replication
  • Connection pooling (PgBouncer/Pgpool)
• Implement HA solutions using tools such as:
  • EDB Cluster
  • RepMgr
• Perform performance tuning (query optimization, indexing, vacuum tuning).
• Manage large-scale databases with partitioning and advanced configurations.

3.      MongoDB Responsibilities

• Administer MongoDB Enterprise deployments in on-prem setups.
• Configure and manage:
  • Replica Sets (HA)
  • Sharded clusters (scalability)
• Handle backup and recovery using MongoDB tools (Ops Manager/Cloud Manager or native tools).
• Perform query optimization and indexing strategies.
• Monitor cluster performance and manage balancer operations.

4.      Redis Responsibilities

• Manage Redis Enterprise / Redis Cluster deployments.
• Configure and maintain:
  • Redis Cluster (sharding)
  • Redis Sentinel (HA and failover)
• Optimize Redis for low latency and high throughput workloads.
• Manage persistence mechanisms (RDB, AOF).
• Handle use cases like caching, session storage, and real-time data processing.

5.      HA / DR / Clustering Responsibilities (All Technologies)

• Design and implement High Availability architectures for each database type.
• Configure automatic failover and redundancy mechanisms.
• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies:
  • Backup validation
  • DR drills and failover testing
• Ensure compliance with RTO / RPO objectives.
• Maintain multi-node clustered environments.

Key Skills Required

Education-Any Bachelors

General Requirements

• 4–10 years of DBA experience in on-premises environments.
• Strong expertise in at least one of the following:
  • PostgreSQL
  • MongoDB (Enterprise)
  • Redis (Enterprise)
• Solid understanding of:
  • Database architecture & internals
  • Performance tuning
  • Backup & recovery strategies
• Experience in Linux/Unix environments.
• Scripting/automation skills (Shell / Python).
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).

PostgreSQL Skill Requirements

• Strong knowledge of:
  • Replication (Streaming & Logical)
  • HA tools (EDB Cluster, RepMgr, EFM etc.)
• Experience in:
  • Query tuning and execution plans
  • Vacuum, autovacuum tuning
  • Partitioning and indexing strategies

MongoDB Skill Requirements

• Hands-on experience with:
  • Replica Sets and Sharding
  • MongoDB Enterprise features
• Knowledge of:
  • BSON structure and schema design
  • Performance tuning and indexing
• Experience with MongoDB backup and monitoring tools

Redis Skill Requirements

• Strong understanding of:
  • Redis Cluster and Sentinel
  • Data structures (key-value, hashes, lists, sets, etc.)
• Experience with:
  • Persistence (RDB/AOF)
  • Memory management and eviction policies
• Knowledge of Redis performance optimization techniques

HA / DR / Clustering Skills

• Proven experience in:
  • Designing HA architectures
  • Implementing multi-node clusters
  • Managing failover and replication
• Experience in DR planning, testing, and execution
• Strong understanding of RTO, RPO, and business continuity
