Job Description: Project Manager – Payroll & HR Systems
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager with strong Payroll expertise to lead, execute, and deliver projects across payroll operations, HR systems, and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in payroll processes, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to drive end-to-end project delivery with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Project Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of payroll and HR-related projects, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality standards are met.
- Develop project plans, define milestones, allocate resources, and manage risks and dependencies.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between HR, Finance, IT, and external partners.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure documentation, change logs, and project artifacts are maintained accurately.
🔹 Payroll Expertise
- Oversee payroll-related requirements gathering, process mapping, and validation.
- Support configuration, testing, and deployment of payroll systems or enhancements.
- Analyse payroll data to identify issues, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to statutory compliance, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with payroll teams to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
🔹 Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll project stakeholders and third-party vendors.
- Manage expectations, provide clear communication, and facilitate decision-making.
- Lead workshops, training sessions, and user walkthroughs for process or system changes.
🔹 Process Improvement
- Identify automation and optimization opportunities within payroll workflows.
- Implement best practices in project management and payroll operations.
- Support change management and organizational readiness for process or technology changes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Finance, Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Project Management, preferably in HR or Payroll domains.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, statutory regulations, and compliance needs.
- Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems (e.g., SAP).
- Proficiency in project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, Confluence, etc.).
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and drive outcomes in fast-paced environments.
