As a Deputy Manager in our Cyber Team, you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations: - 

 

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced Palo Alto XSIAM Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize our Cortex XSIAM platform, ensuring effective monitoring, detection, and response to security incidents.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in XSIAM engineering, detection content development, and data onboarding, along with a deep understanding of modern SOC operations and automation workflows.

This role will support platform scalability, detection tuning, and seamless integration with the broader security ecosystem.

 

  • Platform Administration: Deploy, configure, and manage Palo Alto Cortex XSIAM components, including data lake, analytics, and automation modules.
  • Log Source Onboarding: Integrate telemetry and logs from multiple sources — Cortex XDR, NGFW, Prisma Cloud, O365, AWS, Azure, GCP, Okta, CrowdStrike, and other security tools — ensuring proper parsing and normalization.
  • Detection Engineering: Develop and optimize Cortex Query Language (XQL)-based detections, correlation rules, and behavioral analytics mapped to MITRE ATT&CK tactics and techniques.
  • Incident Support: Collaborate with SOC analysts and threat hunters to investigate alerts, validate detections, and assist in root cause analysis using XQL and contextual data.
  • Automation & SOAR Integration: Design and implement Cortex XSOAR playbooks and automated workflows to reduce response time and improve detection-to-response efficiency.
  • Data Quality & Performance: Monitor ingestion health, dataset quality, and system performance to maintain platform reliability and reduce latency in large-scale environments.
  • Dashboards & Reporting: Create operational dashboards and reports to visualize detection coverage, rule efficiency, and platform health metrics.
  • Optimization: Continuously tune correlation rules, queries, and enrichments to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
  • Platform Enhancements: Evaluate and implement new XSIAM features, APIs, and integrations to enhance platform capability and security posture.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure engineering activities align with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2.0, and RBI Cybersecurity Guidelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed engineering runbooks, integration diagrams, and detection lifecycle documentation.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–9 years of overall experience in SOC engineering, SIEM/SOAR administration, or cybersecurity analytics.
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto Cortex XSIAM (deployment, data onboarding, or detection tuning).
  • Solid understanding of SIEM operations, data pipelines, event correlation, and log normalization.
  • Experience in XQL (Cortex Query Language) for creating and tuning detections, dashboards, and searches.
  • Proficiency in Python, JSON, or REST API for integrations and automation.
  • Familiarity with Cortex XSOAR, Cortex Data Lake, and Prisma Cloud integrations.
  • Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, and incident response frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cloud security telemetry and modern SOC architecture (XDR, UEBA, EDR, WAF, CASB, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills with attention to detail.

 

Preferred Certifications

  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Detection and Response Engineer (PCDRE)
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Automation Engineer (PCSAE)
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Engineer (PCNSE)
  • GSEC / GCDA / CEH / CompTIA Security+ (advantageous)
  • ITIL v4 Foundation (preferred for process-driven SOC environments)
