Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manager – SAP IS-U Metering, Billing & Collections to lead the implementation, support, enhancement, and transformation of SAP IS-U solutions for utility operations. The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end SAP IS-U processes including Device Management (Metering), Energy Data Management, Billing, Invoicing, Collections, Dunning, Payment Processing, and Customer Services while working closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and external partners.

The ideal candidate should possess strong functional expertise in SAP IS-U, team leadership capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and experience in large-scale utility transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities

SAP IS-U Functional Leadership

• Lead the SAP IS-U Metering, Billing, and Collections workstream for implementation, enhancement, and support projects.
• Manage end-to-end utility business processes including:
• Meter installation, replacement, and removal
• Device Management
• Meter reading and validation
• Billing and invoicing
• Collections and receivables management
• Disconnection and reconnection processes
• Payment processing and revenue accounting
• Drive solution design workshops and translate business requirements into SAP IS-U solutions.
• Ensure system configurations align with business processes and regulatory requirements.

Metering & Device Management

• Configure and support SAP IS-U Device Management.
• Manage meter lifecycle processes and meter reading operations.
• Support AMI/Smart Meter integrations and MDMS interfaces.
• Ensure accurate consumption data capture and validation.

Billing & Revenue Management

• Configure and manage tariff structures, rate determination, billing schemas, and invoicing processes.
• Handle complex billing scenarios including:
• Time-of-Day (ToD) Billing
• Net Metering
• Multi-site billing
• Industrial and Commercial customer billing
• Monitor billing performance and revenue assurance processes.

Collections & Customer Accounting

• Manage SAP IS-U FI-CA processes including:
• Contract Accounts
• Receivables and Payables
• Dunning
• Collections Management
• Security Deposits
• Payment Processing
• Drive reduction in outstanding receivables and improve collection efficiency.
• Support integration with banking systems and payment gateways.

Project & Team Management

• Lead cross-functional project teams and SAP consultants.
• Manage project deliverables, timelines, budgets, and risks.
• Work with business users to define process improvements and digital transformation initiatives.
• Mentor and develop functional consultants and support teams.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with utility business users, IT teams, vendors, and leadership stakeholders.
• Act as the primary functional point of contact for Metering, Billing, and Collections.
• Conduct UAT, training sessions, and change management activities.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to utility regulations and industry standards.
• Support audit, compliance, and security requirements.
• Maintain process documentation, SOPs, and solution architecture artifacts.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• MBA preferred.
• SAP IS-U Certification will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

• 10–15 years of overall SAP experience.
• Minimum 7+ years of hands-on SAP IS-U experience.
• At least 3+ years in a Team Lead/Manager role.
• Experience in Utilities domain (Electricity, Water, Gas, or Energy Distribution).
• Strong experience in SAP IS-U implementations, rollouts, support, and transformation programs.
• Experience managing vendor and stakeholder relationships.
