Role purpose

The Senior Consultant leads the design and delivery of AWS cloud, serverless API and data platform workstreams. The role combines hands-on engineering, solution design, quality review, stakeholder engagement and team leadership to exceed client expectations.

Key responsibilities

·      Lead the development of AWS cloud services using Terraform, including reusable modules, environment strategy and deployment patterns.

·      Design and review API services built with Python, API Gateway and Lambda, ensuring scalability, resilience, observability and maintainability.

·      Define and implement cloud security controls across IAM, Security Groups, NAT Gateway, NACLs, SFTP and S3 bucket policies.

·      Establish logging, monitoring and operational controls using CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs, S3 logs, metrics, alarms and dashboards.

·      Guide implementation of data platform components using Glue, S3, Athena, Redshift and reporting integration with Tableau.

·      Review code, Terraform scripts, deployment plans and runbooks to ensure consistency with architecture and project standards.

·      Manage work allocation, defect triage, build dependencies and release readiness for a small team or workstream.

Required technical skills

·      Strong AWS cloud implementation experience with at least 4+ years overall cloud delivery exposure.

·      Deep hands-on Terraform scripting experience, preferably 3+ years or more.

·      Strong serverless development experience with Python, API Gateway and Lambda.

·      Practical understanding of cloud networking, IAM, data lake services, monitoring and secure engineering practices.

·      Ability to translate business requirements into technical design and implementation backlog.

Good-to-have capabilities

·      Experience optimizing Glue Jobs, crawlers, Athena queries or Redshift integration patterns.

·      Experience implementing CI/CD process, branching strategy and deployment controls.

·      Ability to create reusable accelerators, patterns, checklists and estimation inputs.

·      Familiarity with performance management, analytics and visualization use cases.
