Your work profile
- An experienced SAP HCM Payroll Senior Consultant with strong expertise in SAP HCM Payroll and prior experience working with Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Government Organizations, or Large Public Enterprises. Will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and enhancing SAP HCM Payroll solutions while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and PSU-specific HR and payroll processes.
- The role requires strong functional consulting capabilities, stakeholder interaction, payroll process expertise, and experience managing complex employee salary structures, benefits, pension schemes, and government compliance requirements.
SAP HCM Payroll Implementation & Support
- Configure and support SAP HCM Payroll processes.
- Manage payroll schema, rules, wage types, and payroll control processes.
- Perform payroll cycle execution, validation, and reconciliation.
- Analyze and resolve payroll-related issues within defined SLAs.
- Support payroll year-end activities and audit requirements.
SAP HCM Functional Responsibilities
- Configure and support:
- Personnel Administration (PA)
- Organizational Management (OM)
- Time Management (TM)
- Payroll
- ESS/MSS functionalities
- Ensure seamless integration between Payroll, Time Management, and Finance modules.
- Support employee master data management and organizational structure maintenance.
PSU & Government Sector Processes
- Handle PSU-specific payroll and employee administration processes.
- Support:
- Government Pay Scales
- Arrear Processing
- Increment Management
- Promotion and Transfer Processes
- Leave Encashment
- Pension and Retirement Benefits
- Gratuity Administration
- Ensure adherence to PSU HR policies and procedures.
Statutory Compliance
- Manage payroll compliance related to:
- Provident Fund (PF)
- Employee State Insurance (ESI)
- Professional Tax
- Income Tax
- Labour Welfare Fund
- Pension Contributions
- National Pension System (NPS)
- Support statutory reporting and audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and government regulations.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Gather business requirements from HR and Payroll stakeholders.
- Prepare functional specifications and process documentation.
- Conduct user training and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and post-go-live activities.
- Coordinate with technical teams for enhancements and developments.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain payroll reports and MIS dashboards.
- Support audit reporting and management information requirements.
- Ensure payroll data accuracy and integrity.
Key skills required
- 6–10 years of SAP HCM experience with strong Payroll expertise.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in PSU, Government, or Public Sector organizations.
- Hands-on experience in: SAP HCM Payroll, Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Time Management (TM), ESS/MSS
- Strong knowledge of Indian Payroll and statutory compliance.
- Experience in payroll schema and payroll rule configuration.
- Experience in at least one full-cycle SAP implementation and multiple support/enhancement projects.
Preferred Skills
- SAP HCM Certification.
- SAP SuccessFactors integration exposure.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA HCM landscape.
- Knowledge of pension management and retirement benefit administration.
- Exposure to government pay commission structures and PSU compensation frameworks.
- Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Commerce, HR, or related discipline.
- SAP HCM Certification preferred.
- Key Competencies: Strong Payroll Functional Expertise, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- Stakeholder Management.
- Preferred Industry Experience: Power Sector PSUs,Energy & Utilities Organizations, Oil & Gas PSUs, Railways, Infrastructure & Engineering PSUs, Government Departments, Public Sector Enterprises
- Graduate degree (Science or Engineering) – B.Sc ( I.T), B.Sc ( Computer Science ) , B.E/B.Tech or MBA
