Position Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Consultant – SAP IS-U Energy Audit & Loss Management to support utility transformation initiatives focused on energy accounting, energy audit, AT&C loss analysis, revenue assurance, and regulatory reporting.

The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting SAP IS-U solutions that enable end-to-end energy flow monitoring, energy balancing, loss identification, audit compliance, and operational analytics across the utility value chain. The consultant will work closely with business teams, metering operations, commercial departments, and regulatory stakeholders to improve energy accounting accuracy and reduce commercial and technical losses.

The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of utility business processes, SAP IS-U data structures, smart metering ecosystems, and energy audit frameworks commonly used by electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs).

Key Responsibilities

Energy Audit & Energy Accounting

• Lead SAP IS-U energy audit and energy accounting initiatives.
• Design and support energy balance and reconciliation processes across:
• Substations
• Feeders
• Distribution Transformers (DTs)
• Consumer End Points
• Monitor energy flow from source to consumption.
• Support preparation of feeder-wise and DT-wise energy audit reports.
• Enable identification of technical and commercial losses.
• Analyze energy input, billed consumption, collected revenue, and loss patterns.

Loss Analysis & Revenue Assurance

• Support AT&C (Aggregate Technical & Commercial) loss monitoring initiatives.
• Analyze:
• Energy losses
• Billing efficiency
• Collection efficiency
• Revenue leakage
• Identify theft-prone and loss-prone areas through data analytics.
• Work with business teams to improve revenue realization.
• Recommend process improvements for reduction of non-technical losses.

SAP IS-U Functional Consulting

• Gather business requirements and translate them into SAP IS-U solutions.
• Configure and support integration between:
• SAP IS-U Billing
• Device Management
• Meter Reading
• Customer Service
• FI-CA
• Support energy audit reporting requirements using SAP Utilities data.
• Ensure availability and accuracy of metering and billing information required for audits.

Smart Metering & Data Analytics

• Support smart metering and AMI-enabled energy audit programs.
• Validate and analyze:
• Consumer consumption data
• Feeder metering data
• DT metering data
• Boundary metering information
• Support integration with:
• AMI Systems
• Head-End Systems (HES)
• Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS)
• GIS Platforms
• Monitor data quality and completeness for energy audit reporting.

Regulatory Reporting & Compliance

• Support energy audit reporting as per utility and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and automate reports related to:
• AT&C Losses
• Feeder-wise Audit
• DT-wise Audit
• Energy Accounting
• Revenue Gap Analysis
• Collection Efficiency
• Ensure compliance with internal audit and regulatory standards.
• Support regulatory submissions and management reviews.

Reporting & Business Intelligence

• Develop functional specifications for energy audit reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with reporting and analytics teams.
• Support KPI monitoring through:
• SAP Reports
• SAP BW/4HANA
• SAP Analytics Cloud
• Utility Dashboards
• Provide actionable business insights from operational data.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Prepare business scenarios and test cases.
• Execute:

• Validate energy audit outputs and reconciliation reports.
• Support defect resolution and production deployment activities.

Production Support & Enhancements

• Provide L2/L3 support for energy audit and reporting processes.
• Investigate and resolve data inconsistencies impacting audit results.
• Support business users during monthly and regulatory reporting cycles.
• Recommend process automation and optimization opportunities.

Stakeholder Management

• Conduct workshops with commercial, metering, operations, and finance teams.
• Coordinate with project managers, developers, business users, and external vendors.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• MBA or Postgraduate qualification preferred.
• SAP IS-U Certification will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

• 6–10 years of overall SAP and Utility industry experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of hands-on SAP IS-U experience.
• At least 3+ years of experience in Energy Audit, Energy Accounting, Revenue Assurance, or Utility Analytics.
• Experience working with Power Distribution Utilities (DISCOMs).
• Experience in smart metering or AMI programs preferred.
• Exposure to regulatory reporting and utility performance monitoring.
