Your work profile

• An experienced SAP Project Systems (PS) Senior Consultant with strong expertise in SAP PS and prior experience working in SAP IS-U (Industry Solution Utilities) environments. Should be will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and optimizing project management processes within utility organizations, ensuring effective planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring, and settlement of capital and operational projects.

SAP Project Systems (PS) Functional Consulting

• Configure, implement, and support SAP PS solutions.
• Manage end-to-end project lifecycle processes including:
• Project Definition
• Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
• Network Activities
• Project Planning and Scheduling
• Milestone Tracking
• Project Budgeting
• Cost Planning and Monitoring
• Resource Planning
• Project Settlement
• Support capital investment and infrastructure project management processes.

SAP IS-U & Utility Project Management

• Support utility-specific projects related to:
• Network Expansion
• Meter Deployment Programs
• Electrification Projects
• Asset Installation & Maintenance
• Substation Projects
• Smart Meter Rollouts
• Utility Infrastructure Development
• Collaborate with SAP IS-U teams to align project execution with utility business requirements.

Integration Management

• Manage integration between SAP PS and:
• SAP IS-U
• SAP PM (Plant Maintenance)
• SAP MM (Materials Management)
• SAP FI/CO
• SAP Asset Accounting (AA)
• Ensure accurate project cost tracking, procurement integration, asset capitalization, and financial reporting.

Project Delivery & Support

• Conduct requirement gathering workshops and business process assessments.
• Analyze business needs and prepare functional specifications.
• Handle system configuration, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Support data migration, cutover planning, and go-live activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve SAP PS-related issues.

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Configure project budgeting and cost monitoring processes.
• Track project expenditures and budget utilization.
• Support project revenue recognition and settlement processes.
• Ensure accurate capitalization of assets under construction (AUC).

Reporting & Analytics

• Develop project status reports and management dashboards.
• Support project cost and budget variance analysis.
• Generate project performance and financial reports.
• Provide insights for project governance and decision-making.

Documentation & Training

• Prepare functional design documents, test scripts, and process documentation.
• Conduct end-user training and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Support change management and user adoption initiatives.

Key skills required

• 6–10 years of SAP consulting experience with strong SAP PS expertise.
• Hands-on experience in: Project Structures (WBS, Networks), Project Planning & Scheduling, Cost Planning & Budgeting, Project Settlement, Results Analysis, Investment Management
• Experience in at least one full-cycle SAP implementation project.
• Strong integration knowledge with SAP MM, PM, FI/CO, and Asset Accounting.
• Experience working in SAP IS-U or utility-sector projects.
• Should have SAP S/4HANA Project Systems experience.
• Experience with utility infrastructure and capital project management.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
• Exposure to SAP Portfolio and Project Management (PPM).
• Familiarity with project reporting and analytics tools.
• Preferred Industry Experience: Power Distribution Utilities, Power Generation & Transmission Companies, Water Utilities, Gas Distribution Companies, Energy & Utilities Organizations, EPC & Infrastructure Companies, Utility Consulting Organizations
• Graduate degree (Science or Engineering) – B.Sc (I.T), B.Sc ( Computer Science ) , B.E/B.Tech or MBA
