Your work profile
Assistant Manager –ESG/ Carbon Management/ Sustainability. We are seeking a skilled ESG professional with 3–4 years of experience specializing in carbon management, GHG accounting, and decarbonisation strategies. The role will focus on supporting clients in measuring, managing, and reducing emissions, aligned with global frameworks and evolving carbon markets.
You will be working on solving full spectrum of sustainability and climate change challenges across a wide range of clients across industry sectors. You will not just be working on ideas and recommendations to solve the client’s challenges, in most cases you would also be walking with the client in implementing those recommendations and in advising clients as they establish and improve internal processes for collecting, analyzing, measuring, and reporting information.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct GHG inventories in line with GHG Protocol, including Scope 1, 2, and Scope 3 emissions.
- Analyze and support Scope 3 value chain assessments, including supplier and downstream emissions.
- Support in developing decarbonisation strategies and net-zero roadmaps across sectors.
- SUpport in identifying and evaluate emission reduction opportunities (energy efficiency, renewables, process optimization).
- Support carbon footprinting and lifecycle assessments (LCA).
- Provide advisory on carbon markets, carbon finance, and emissions trading mechanisms.
- Assist in climate risk assessments and TCFD-aligned disclosures.
- Conduct ESG and climate-related due diligence and contribute to ESDD assignments.
- Support sector-specific decarbonisation analysis (e.g., power, manufacturing, infrastructure).
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, client presentations, and data analysis outputs.
- Engage with clients to support data collection, validation, and strategy implementation.

Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD degree in environment and related field, Environmental Engineering, Climate Science, Sustainability, Energy, or related field.
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in ESG, climate, or carbon consulting.
- Understanding of:
- GHG Protocol (Scopes 1, 2, 3)
- Carbon accounting and reporting frameworks (CDP, TCFD, SBTi)
- Decarbonisation levers and sectoral transition pathways
- Carbon markets, offsets, and trading mechanisms
- Experience with data analysis, carbon modeling, and emissions estimation tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report writing skills.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience supporting net-zero strategies or science-based targets (SBTi).
- Familiarity with carbon pricing, voluntary carbon markets, and climate finance instruments.
- Exposure to lender/DFI or ESG due diligence assignments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work in cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
· Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
· Strong network in climate change and sustainability fraternity
· A fast learner who can pick up a new sector, industry, or a concept very quickly
· Out-of-box thinking and an inclination for problem solving
· A thorough team player and proven ability to lead teams
· Research, analysis, macroeconomic modelling, and problem-solving capabilities
· Adaptability to travel and change
