Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join our Forensic & Financial Crime team, supporting investigations and Electronically Stored Information (ESI) review engagements. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to and manage investigative assignments involving the review, organization, and analysis of documentary and electronic evidence. The role involves overseeing the structured review of ESI, including emails, documents, and other digital records, to identify relevant information and support investigative findings across internal and external investigations. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in analyzing complex datasets, identifying potential red flags, and organizing evidence to support investigative and compliance assessments.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work with large volumes of information and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines. The candidate will contribute to investigative and compliance engagements, including matters related to fraud, corruption, misconduct, financial crime, and regulatory investigations. Responsibilities may include supervising document review workflows, conducting and refining keyword searches, reviewing and categorizing records, identifying relevant communications and evidence, and supporting the preparation of investigative summaries and reports. The role requires the ability to gather, organize, and analyze information from multiple sources, identify potential risks or compliance concerns, and ensure the accuracy and consistency of investigative findings. The Assistant Manager will also review work performed by junior team members, provide guidance during document review and evidence analysis, and ensure adherence to established review protocols and quality standards.
The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrate strong ownership of assignments, and possess the ability to manage large datasets and document review processes efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential, including the ability to prepare clear, well-structured investigative summaries, reports, and supporting documentation.

Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager in our Forensic & Financial Crime team you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and member firm counterparts with the intention to exceed member firm expectations. You’ll:
• Conduct and supervise public domain research using open-source intelligence (OSINT), regulatory filings, corporate registries, and global databases to support investigative and forensic engagements.
• Analyze information from publicly available sources, including media reports, litigation records, and regulatory disclosures, to identify reputational, financial, or compliance-related risks.
• Synthesize findings from public domain research and integrate them with ESI review and investigative analysis to support case assessments and investigative reporting.
• Review and guide research conducted by junior team members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to investigative methodologies.
• Manage and oversee the collection, organization, and review of Electronically Stored Information (ESI) from various digital sources, including emails, documents, databases, and other electronic records.
• Support market intelligence teams in identifying relevant electronic data for investigative, regulatory, and compliance matters.
• Coordinate and assist in data preservation, collection, and processing activities, ensuring adherence to Client’s internal protocols.
• Conduct and supervise structured review and analysis of electronic documents and communications to identify relevant information, potential red flags, and investigative leads.
• Ensure proper organization and management of electronic records and datasets to support efficient retrieval during investigations.
• Oversee document review workflows, including keyword searches, tagging, categorization, and relevance assessments to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate with internal teams, and IT departments during data collection, processing, and document review activities.
• Ensure proper handling, security, and confidentiality of sensitive electronic information in line with Client’s organisational policies and data protection standards.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of ESI handling processes, ensuring proper audit trails, chain-of-custody documentation, and compliance with investigative protocols.
• Review and contribute to the preparation of investigative summaries, reports, and supporting documentation based on electronic evidence identified during investigations.
• Provide guidance to junior team members involved in document review and data analysis, ensuring quality and adherence to review protocols.
• Ensure timely completion of ESI review activities and investigative deliverables in accordance with project timelines and investigation requirements.
Skills, Experience & Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Law, Computer Science, or another relevant discipline with strong research and analytical components.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in investigations, e-discovery, forensic analysis, compliance reviews, risk advisory, or related analytical roles.
• Strong analytical, research, and report-writing capabilities, with the ability to review and synthesize information from large volumes of documents and electronic datasets.
• Solid understanding of ESI review processes, including document review workflows, keyword searches, tagging, categorization, and relevance assessment.
• Experience or exposure to e-discovery and document review platforms such as Relativity, Nuix, Everlaw, or similar tools is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and data management tools for organizing, analyzing, and presenting investigative findings.
• Working knowledge of investigative methodologies, document review protocols, and evidence handling procedures, including maintaining audit trails and proper documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical judgment, with a commitment to ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of investigative findings.
• Good interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with legal, compliance, forensic, and investigation teams.
• Ability to manage assigned workstreams independently while coordinating with crossfunctional teams on larger investigative engagements.
• Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to prepare clear, concise investigative summaries, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Ability to review and guide junior team members’ work during document review and investigative analysis, ensuring quality and consistency of deliverables.
