  • Focus is to ensure Import-Export programs comply with all applicable EU regulations and legislation and maximize savings for the business.
  • Interacting with Customs Brokers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely clearance of shipments and maintain MIS.
  • Ability to lead and implement cross-functional projects
  • Auditing of Import / Export documents, validating the correct details are declared to customs in the declaration filed.
  • Ensuring that Import/ Export databases are updated with correct and complete information, based on which reports are sent to senior leaders.
  • Knowledge of the Generalized System of Preferences & REX program and bilateral and multilateral trade agreements.
  • Ensuring supportive documentation for the issuance of preferential origin declarations is available in the required format and ensuring storage of the same according to legal requirements.
  • Managing Licenses and Customs Authorizations, ensuring information is always up-to-date and required changes are reported within the legal frameworks.
  • Manage Customs Audit processed for periodic Customs Audits as well as transactional checks performed by Customs authorities in the importing countries.
  • Must know HTS classification, Customs valuations, and origin determination and compliance requirements for Customs Trade Compliance.
  • Ensure systematic recordkeeping of all the Import/Export documentation on the EU server.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional coordination with Transportation, Product Managers, Finance, Supply Chain
  • In depth knowledge of Customs clearance procedures for release into free circulation, bonded warehouse and IPR
  • In depth knowledge of INCOTERMS
  • Stay abreast of global and regional developments in international trade law, customs regulations, free trade agreements, and export control regimes, and integrate such developments into internal compliance processes.
  • Support the design and implementation of trade compliance policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training programs to promote awareness and reduce risk exposure.
  • Strong understanding of international trade law frameworks, including WTO Agreements (Customs Valuation, Rules of Origin, TBT, and SPS) and EU customs legislation such as the Union Customs Code (UCC).
  • Familiarity with export control laws and sanctions regimes, including EU Dual-Use Regulation, U.S. EAR/ITAR (where applicable), and denied party screening protocol.
  • Ability to liaise with legal counsel, government authorities (e.g., customs, export control bodies), and business stakeholders to resolve compliance issues within a legal framework.
  • Familiarity with legal recordkeeping obligations under customs and trade laws, including electronic archiving, audit trails, and statutory retention periods.
