Your work profile

As an Assistant Manager in our Global Business Tax Team you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations: -

  • • Assisting on tax advisory such as undertaking in-depth research on tax technical matters
  • • Preparing tax opinions / short notes / email responses on day-to-day clients’ tax matters
  • • Undertaking compliances such as filing of tax returns, withholding tax statements, advance tax, provisioning for income tax and other tax filings such as SFT etc.
  • • Assisting on tax assessment / litigation proceedings before the assessing officer, other income tax authorities and higher appellate forums. This will include drafting responses to audit notices & questionnaires, representation before the tax authorities for assessment, rectification, and other similar matters.
  • • Coordinating with internal stakeholders and enabling areas for on-the-job work requirements.

·         To have in depth knowledge of tax technology tools, Deloitte systems, standard processes, tool user manuals, internal system workflows and access; and ensure response to the tasks raised by various teams

·        Assistance to the team in development/ enhancement of a tax technology solution in direct tax domain

·        Brainstorming on functional requirements/ enhancements, documenting the same in Business Requirement Document (BRD) and discussing it with Business Analyst, Tax Technical team, Developers, etc

·        Reviewing user stories and aligning the same with BRD including documenting all acceptance criteria

·        Understanding the project requirements and performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regular testing on software applications by self and with the help of team members test various test scenarios and test cases. Also, overseeing the testing conducted by team members and coordinating with developers for query resolutions.

·        Identifying and reporting bugs, errors, and defects in the system and communicate same to the developers in targeted timelines and tracking them to resolution.

·        Review of documentation including test plans, test cases, and testing documentation in accordance with project timelines and standards. Ensure completeness from documentation perspective.

·        Timely updating seniors on progress on development, challenges, etc

·        Understand the expectations and requirements of the client service team and client, ensure the clarity in team below, agree on timelines and oversee the execution of the same

·        Undertake Proof-of-concept based on sample data received from the client and process the same from the tool and share report with the clients

·        Take ownership of work and ensure the timelines are met maintaining the quality of the deliverables.

·        Conducting client demos, user trainings for existing/ prospective clients.

·        Follow-ups with customers and client facing teams for conversion and sales

·        Understanding and resolving the issues faced by junior team members and providing clear and concise feedback to the development team and stakeholders.

·        Timely review of the time cost tracker on a real-time basis, capturing the vitals of the ticket raised on systems and ensure targeted utilisation of team on projects.

·        Coordinating with internal stakeholders and enabling areas for on-the-job work requirements.

·        Provide ideas, innovative solutions to enhancement the tools and bring more automation in tax areas.
