Job Summary
The Power Platform PMO is responsible for governing, coordinating, and accelerating the delivery of initiatives built on Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents). The role ensures that projects follow best‑in‑class project management practices, align with corporate strategy, and deliver measurable business value while maintaining quality, risk, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Framework
- Define, maintain, and enforce the PMO framework, methodology, and tools for Power Platform projects (e.g., Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid).
- Establish standards for solution architecture, documentation, testing, and deployment pipelines.
- Conduct regular health‑checks, stage‑gate reviews, and performance reporting for all Power Platform initiatives.
Portfolio Management
- Maintain a centralized Power Platform project portfolio, tracking scope, schedule, resources, and benefits realization.
- Prioritize requests based on business impact, resource capacity, and strategic alignment.
- Provide executive dashboards and insights (e.g., Power BI) on project status, risks, and ROI.
Project Planning & Execution
- Work with product owners, solution architects, and delivery teams to develop detailed project plans, acceptance criteria, and milestones.
- Monitor progress, manage change requests, and ensure timely issue resolution.
- Facilitate daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and stakeholder communications.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies specific to the Power Platform ecosystem (e.g., licensing, data security, integration complexities).
- Maintain an issue log and drive corrective actions.
Resource & Financial Management
- Coordinate resource allocation across development, citizen‑developer, and support teams.
- Track project budgets, forecast spend, and ensure alignment with finance policies.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Oversee testing strategies (unit, functional, UAT) and ensure solutions meet governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO).
Conduct solution reviews and sign‑off processes.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison between business sponsors, IT, and external vendors.
- Produce clear status reports, executive summaries, and benefit‑realization updates.
Continuous Improvement
- Capture lessons learned, promote best practices, and drive adoption of automation and analytics within the PMO.
- Evaluate emerging Power Platform features and recommend enhancements to the delivery model.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience 5+ years of project/program management experience, with at least 2 years delivering solutions on Microsoft Power Platform.
- Methodologies Proven expertise in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and/or hybrid project management frameworks.
Tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps / Planner, Power BI for reporting, and Power Platform admin center.
- Certifications (preferred) PMP, PMI‑ACP, PRINCE2, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect, or Power Platform Project Manager certification.
- Domain Knowledge Understanding of low‑code/no‑code development, data modeling (Dataverse), integration patterns (APIs, connectors), and governance models for citizen development.
- Soft Skills Strong leadership, stakeholder‑management, communication, and analytical abilities; capacity to work with both technical and non‑technical teams.
