- Lead and support IFRS 17/IFRS 9 implementation projects, covering design, gap analysis, system requirements, process changes, and financial impact assessments.
- Collaborate with client finance, actuarial, risk, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of accounting and operational requirements.
- Assist in developing methodologies for the recognition and measurement of insurance contracts, financial instruments, expected credit losses (ECL), and related areas.
- Prepare or review technical accounting papers, position memos, and impact assessments for clients and audit teams.
- Support clients in data mapping, system testing, and model validation to ensure IFRS-compliant outputs.
- Conduct training and workshops for client teams on IFRS 17, IFRS 9, and other relevant standards.
- Contribute to thought leadership, technical guidance, and internal knowledge sharing within the advisory practice.
- Provide insights on the interaction of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 with other accounting standards such as IFRS 15 (Revenue), IFRS 16 (Leases), IFRS 13 (Fair Value Measurement), and IAS 12 (Income Taxes).
- Train and mentor team members on the technical and operational areas.
Key skills required:
- Education - Chartered Accountant (CA / ACCA) qualification is mandatory.
- Experience in accounting advisory, audit, or financial reporting.
- Proven experience in IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 implementation projects (insurance or financial institutions).
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS standards, with an emphasis on insurance, financial instruments, and related reporting frameworks.
- Exposure to financial systems, sub-ledgers, or data solutions used for IFRS 17/IFRS 9
