Role Overview – Director, GBS Advisory

As a Director in Deloitte’s GBS Advisory practice, you will lead discrete workstreams and mid-to-large GBS engagements, owning delivery quality, team management, and client interactions.

You will work closely with Partners, as well as cross-functional Deloitte teams and global member firms, contributing to both client delivery and practice development.


Key Responsibilities

 

Enterprise GBS Strategy & Value Realisation

  • Shape and lead enterprise-wide GBS and GCC strategies aligned to business, technology, and transformation agendas
  • Own development of investment-grade business cases addressing cost, productivity, talent, risk, scalability, and long-term operating sustainability
  • Advise executive leadership on location strategy, workforce models, and operating trade-offs in evolving regulatory and talent environments
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to CXOs, balancing ambition with execution realism

Operating Model & Capability-Led Design

  • Define and design future-ready GBS Target Operating Models, including governance, service ownership, and hybrid sourcing strategies
  • Enable client transitions from transactional shared services to capability-led, value-generating GBS organisations
  • Integrate digital, analytics, and functional CoEs into operating model designs in collaboration with Technology, Digital, and Industry practices
  • Provide strategic oversight across multiple functions and geographies to ensure coherence and scalability

End-to-End Transformation, Transition & Operate Leadership

  • Lead large, multi-functional GBS and outsourcing transformations across Finance, HR, Procurement, IT, Legal, Analytics, and Digital
  • Provide executive oversight across transition, stabilisation, performance management, and service maturity uplift phases
  • Shape and govern transform-and-operate and managed services models to ensure sustained post-transition performance
  • Coordinate delivery across global Deloitte member firms, vendors, and client stakeholders

Digital, Analytics & AI Enablement

  • Embed process mining, advanced analytics, and performance intelligence into GBS governance and operating models
  • Sponsor AI-enabled and automation-led service delivery models in partnership with cloud, data, and engineering teams
  • Leverage Deloitte’s global digital and analytics ecosystem to bring leading practices and innovation to clients
  • Translate digital ambition into pragmatic, scalable operating outcomes

Executive Stakeholder, Change & Risk Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite and senior global leaders on complex operating model and transformation decisions
  • Lead enterprise-wide change across geographies, cultures, and organisational boundaries
  • Own engagement risk management, quality assurance, and compliance obligations in line with Deloitte’s risk and independence frameworks
  • Navigate highly complex stakeholder environments involving boards, executive committees, vendors, and internal leadership

Practice Financials, Growth & Market Leadership

  • Own engagement economics, including revenue, margin, utilisation, and delivery health across the GBS portfolio
  • Manage practice financials and books, including forecasting, pipeline management, and commercial performance
  • Lead RFI/RFP responses, deal shaping, and contract structuring for large GBS and transform-and-operate opportunities
  • Drive internal practice development initiatives including capability build, delivery standards, and go-to-market offerings
  • Develop industry insights and market intelligence to inform client conversations, propositions, and thought leadership
  • Contribute to published thought leadership, IP development, and analyst-facing materials
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing consulting teams across levels and geographies

Note : This role involves extensive domestic and international travel.


Qualifications & Experience

  • 12+  years of consulting or transformation experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from Tier 1 college/ Chartered Accountant; Masters/ MBA preferred
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end GCC programs, including strategy, operating model design, transition, scale-up, and/or operate
  • Deep expertise in operating model design, governance frameworks, and service delivery models
  • Experience leading multi-functional GCC transitions across corporate functions
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including C-suite and global leadership engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple functions, service lines, and geographies in a global consulting environment
  • Solid understanding of location strategy, workforce planning, and investment modeling
  • Experience managing large teams (20+ members) across complex transformation programs
  • Demonstrated contribution to business development, including RFPs, solutioning, and deal support
  • Proficient user of Microsoft suite (advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Experience in executing technology led transformation programs
  • Ability to develop point of views and support in thought leadership
  • Expertise in one or more shared services functions such as Finance, HR, Procurement, IT operations/ processes
  • Exposure to vendor management strategy and operations is a plus
  • Ability to act as a subject matter expert in relevant areas – solutions/ functions/ sectors
  • Possessed leadership qualities and the ability to mentor consultants and junior team members
  • Exposure to technologies such AWS, Azure, Data Analytics, Automation and Engineering tools is a plus
