As a Manager in our SAP Team, you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations: -

 

SAP TM Professional should have:

 

We are seeking an experienced SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) Functional Consultant to drive end-to-end implementation projects. The role requires deep functional expertise across all SAP TM process areas, integration experience, and strong business consulting skills. 

 

Key Responsibilities  The person will be responsible for delivering solutions across the full SAP TM lifecycle, including: 

1. Master Data & Organizational Setup -Configure Business Partners (Shippers, Carriers, Forwarders, Customers, Vendors).

Set up Locations, Transportation Zones, Calendars, Resources (Vehicles, Trailers, Drivers), and Transportation Lanes.

Define Org Units, Planning Profiles, and Planning Strategies. 

2. Order Management & Freight Unit Building -Integration of Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Deliveries, and Stock Transport

Management of Freight Unit Building Rules (FUBR). 

3. Transportation Planning & Optimization -Configure Transportation Cockpit for interactive planning.

Set up VSR Optimizer for automated planning (Routing, Scheduling, Carrier Selection, Load Consolidation).

Support manual and automated planning strategies, including Load Planning and Transportation Proposals.Utilize Load Planning UI for vehicle space utilization. 

4. Execution & Freight Order Management -Configure Freight Orders (FO), Freight Bookings (FB), and associated documents (OTR, DTR, ODO).

Support multimodal transportation (Road, Rail, Ocean, Air).

Set up Status Management, Execution Tracking, and Event Management integration.

Configure PPF (Post Processing Framework) for document printing, EDI communication, and email notifications. 

5. Tendering & Collaboration  Configure Tendering strategies: Broadcast, Bidding, Spot Tendering, Sequential Tendering.  Carrier collaboration via SAP TM Collaboration Portal / SAP Business Network for Logistics (BN4L).  Integration with external systems via EDI, IDocs, and Web Services. 

6. Charge Management & Freight Settlement  Define and configure Rate Tables, Calculation Sheets, and Freight Agreements.  Support Index-based and condition-based charge determination.  Configure Freight Settlement Documents (FSD) and integration with SAP FI/CO for vendor invoicing and customer billing.  Configure cost distribution and profitability analysis. 

 

7. Analytics & Reporting  Set up TM standard analytics (Freight Cost Analysis, Carrier Performance, On-time Delivery).  Integration with SAP BW/BI or Embedded Analytics in S/4HANA.  8. Integration  Configure and support integration between SAP TM and:  SAP S/4HANA (SD, MM, LE, FI, CO)  Third-party carriers and freight forwarders (via PI/PO, CPI, EDI, APIs).  SAP BN4L FC and BN4L GTT integration SAP EWM (for warehouse execution and shipping)  SAP EM & SAP GTS integration

 

Desired qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, IT, or related field. 
  • Experience:  8+ years of SAP TM functional experience with strong configuration knowledge.  At least 3 end-to-end SAP TM implementation projects (preferably S/4HANA Embedded TM). 
  • Strong expertise across all SAP TM process areas: Master Data, Order Management, Planning, Execution, Tendering, Charge Management, Freight Settlement, Analytics, and Integration.  Hands-on experience with documents and objects: FU, FO, FB, OTR, DTR, ODO.  Knowledge of multimodal transport processes (Road, Rail, Ocean, Air).  Familiar with Optimizer, PPF, BRF+, BNL, and Fiori apps. 
  • SAP TM Certification is a plus. 
  • Soft Skills  Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills   Ability to lead workshops and guide process harmonization for Requirement gatherings.  Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.  Ability to work in both Agile and Waterfall delivery models.  Ability to own the process understanding, architect and design the solutions in SAP

 

Location and way of working

  • Base location: Delhi
  • This profile involves frequent travelling to client locations.
