The Team

The ESG Assurance & Advisory team goes beyond numbers to enable credible, transparent, and impactful sustainability outcomes. The team supports organizations in strengthening their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) foundations through data validation, sustainability reporting, regulatory disclosures, and advisory services. We work at the intersection of sustainability, risk, governance, and reporting to help clients build resilient and future-ready ESG strategies.

Your Work Profile

As an Environmental / ESG Specialist, you will support ESG assurance and advisory engagements with a strong focus on environmental and sustainability metrics. The role provides hands-on exposure to ESG frameworks, sustainability reporting, ESG data management, and regulatory disclosures. This position is ideal for professionals with 1–2 years of experience in ESG, environment, sustainability, or climate-related roles, looking to build a long-term career in ESG assurance and advisory.

You will work closely with internal teams and clients to support ESG data validation, reporting, and governance assessments, contributing to high-quality sustainability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support ESG data collection, validation, and analysis across Environmental, Social, and Governance metrics, with emphasis on environmental indicators such as emissions, energy, water, waste, and climate-related data
• Assist in preparation, review, and quality checks of ESG, sustainability, integrated, and regulatory reports (BRSR, GRI, etc.)
• Support ESG assurance engagements by testing accuracy, completeness, and consistency of ESG data
• Assist with regulatory and compliance-related ESG disclosures, including BRSR and climate-related reporting
• Support ESG advisory assignments such as gap assessments, baseline assessments, and ESG maturity assessments
• Assist in reviewing ESG governance structures, policies, processes, and internal controls
• Contribute to improvements in ESG data management processes, documentation, and reporting workflows
• Conduct research on ESG-related technical topics such as climate risk, environmental impact metrics, sustainability standards, and emerging ESG regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support delivery of ESG projects and client engagements

Technical & Functional Skills

• Working knowledge of ESG and sustainability frameworks such as BRSR, GRI, IFRS S1 & S2, TCFD, or similar
• Basic understanding of ESG assurance, sustainability reporting, and non-financial disclosures
• Experience in handling ESG or environmental data and supporting reporting or compliance activities
• Proficiency in MS Excel for data handling and analysis; ability to work with large datasets
• Ability to prepare presentations and reports using MS PowerPoint and Word
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

Desired Qualifications

• Master’s degree in ESG, Sustainability, Environmental Management, Climate Change, or related field, OR
• Engineering graduate (Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Energy, or related disciplines) with ESG exposure, OR
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or allied fields
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability consulting, environmental reporting, climate or ESG assurance/advisory roles
• Fluency in written and verbal English

Location & Way of Working

• Base Location: Mumbai
• This role may involve travel to client locations, as required
• Hybrid working model, customized based on business and project needs
