Key Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data platforms using the Databricks Lakehouse.

Design and optimize batch and real-time data pipelines using PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Auto Loader, and Structured Streaming.

Architect and manage data lakehouse environments using Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and cloud object storage (ADLS/S3/GCS).

Drive data modeling, Delta Lake architecture, and performance optimization strategies.

Define and implement CI/CD standards for Databricks workloads using Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.

Lead complex data migration and modernization programs, including on‑prem to cloud lakehouse transformation.

Implement robust data quality frameworks, expectations, monitoring, and alerting (DLT expectations, custom checks).

Ensure enterprise-grade security, governance, and compliance (Unity Catalog, access controls, encryption).

Optimize solutions for cost, scalability, availability, and reliability.

Act as a technical advisor to clients and internal teams on Databricks best practices.

Review solution designs and code; provide leadership and architectural guidance.

Mentor and coach data engineers and junior consultants.

Contribute to pre-sales activities, solution estimations, and technical proposals.

Required Skills

Deep hands-on expertise with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud-native data architectures.

Advanced proficiency in SQL and PySpark/Scala.

Strong experience with distributed systems and large-scale data processing.

Proven leadership in design reviews, architecture decisions, and technical governance.

Experience in client-facing consulting roles.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional

Experience designing enterprise-scale or multi-region lakehouse architectures.

Exposure to data governance, lineage, and observability tooling.

Prior experience leading or mentoring data engineering teams.
