Work you’ll do
As an SAP HCM Payroll Consultant, you will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting SAP Payroll solutions for our clients in India. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their specific payroll needs, translate those needs into technical requirements, and deliver effective solutions within the SAP HCM landscape, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in India.
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis (India Focus): Conduct workshops and interviews with business users in India to gather requirements specific to Indian payroll, including statutory compliance, tax deductions, allowances, and other relevant areas. Analyze business processes and document "as-is" and "to-be" scenarios, considering the nuances of Indian payroll.
- Solution Design & Configuration (India Focus): Design, configure, and test SAP Payroll for India, including components like payroll schema, rules, wage types, and tax calculations, ensuring adherence to Indian legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., Income Tax, PF, ESI, Gratuity, etc.).
- Statutory Compliance (India Focus): Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Indian payroll regulations and ensure that the SAP Payroll system is configured to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Manage and implement any changes required due to legal updates.
- Customization & Development (India Focus): Develop functional specifications for custom enhancements related to Indian payroll and work with ABAP developers to ensure proper implementation. May also be involved in basic ABAP debugging related to payroll.
- Testing & Quality Assurance (India Focus): Develop test plans, conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) specifically for Indian payroll processes to ensure the quality and accuracy of SAP Payroll solutions.
- Training & Documentation (India Focus): Create user manuals, training materials, and other documentation specific to Indian payroll processes. Conduct end-user training sessions for Indian payroll users.
- Go-Live & Support (India Focus): Support the go-live process for Indian payroll implementations, including data migration and post-implementation support. Provide ongoing support to end-users in India, troubleshooting payroll issues and resolving problems.
- Project Management: Contribute to project planning, execution, and tracking. Manage tasks and deliverables within assigned scope.
- Best Practices & Standards: Stay up-to-date with SAP HCM best practices and Indian payroll regulations and trends. Contribute to the development of internal methodologies and standards related to Indian payroll.
- Client Communication (India Focus): Communicate effectively with clients in India, both verbally and in writing, considering cultural nuances. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Key Skills & Experience:
- 6-8 years in SAP Payroll, with 5+ years in Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
- Strong knowledge of Payroll Control Center (PCC), BIB integrations, and EC–ECP data replication.
- Experience with payroll schemas, PCRs, off-cycle payroll, and retro-calculations.
- Excellent understanding of Time, Benefits, and Finance integration touchpoints.
- SAP SuccessFactors ECP certification preferred.
- Strong client-facing, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Bachelors or Masters in any field.
