Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP FI Senior Consultant with strong expertise in Commodity Accounting, Financial Accounting (FI), and SAP S/4HANA Finance to support and enhance finance processes within a dynamic Metals business environment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commodity-based industries such as Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Zinc, Iron Ore, Ferro Alloys, and Mining, with a thorough understanding of commodity trading, provisional pricing, metal accounting, inventory valuation, hedge accounting, and financial close processes.

This role will be responsible for solution design, configuration, business process optimization, system support, and project delivery while working closely with Finance, Commercial, Trading, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Treasury teams.

Key Responsibilities

SAP FI Functional Consulting

• Lead SAP FI design, configuration, testing, deployment, and support activities.
• Provide expertise across:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Asset Accounting (AA)
• Bank Accounting
• Taxation
• Financial Closing and Reporting
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP solutions.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control requirements.

Commodity Accounting & Metals Business Support

Support finance processes associated with:

• Metal procurement and sourcing
• Commodity purchases and sales
• Concentrate accounting
• Smelter accounting
• Tolling arrangements
• Metal inventory accounting
• Precious and base metals accounting
• Commodity contract settlements
• Sales and purchase contract accounting
• Inventory valuation and revaluation

Manage accounting requirements related to:

• Provisional pricing
• Quotational period pricing (QP)
• Commodity price adjustments
• Final settlement accounting
• Gain/loss calculations
• Treatment and refining charges (TC/RC)
• Metal ledger reconciliations
• Commodity exposure reporting

Financial Process Design

• Design and optimize end-to-end finance processes.
• Support automation of accounting and reporting activities.
• Improve financial controls, process efficiency, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with business teams to identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure standard SAP best practices are adopted wherever feasible.

SAP S/4HANA Finance

Support and configure key S/4HANA Finance functionalities including:

• Universal Journal
• New Asset Accounting
• Business Partner Integration
• Parallel Accounting
• Group Reporting
• Financial Close Processes
• Material Ledger Integration
• Document Splitting
• Profit Center Accounting

Participate in S/4HANA implementation, migration, and transformation initiatives.

Integration Management

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure integration between SAP FI and:

• SAP CO
• SAP MM
• SAP SD
• SAP TM
• SAP EWM
• SAP Treasury & Risk Management
• SAP Commodity Management
• SAP GTS
• Third-party commodity trading platforms

Support seamless transaction flows from procurement through production, sales, settlement, and financial reporting.

Commodity Pricing & Settlement Support

Provide expertise in:

• Commodity procurement contracts
• Trading and hedging processes
• Price variance accounting
• Commodity valuation models
• Futures and derivatives accounting
• MTM (Mark-to-Market) reporting
• Provisional invoice accounting
• Settlement reconciliation processes

Collaborate with Commercial, Trading, Treasury, and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Business Support & Solution Delivery

• Conduct requirement gathering workshops.
• Prepare functional specifications and process documentation.
• Support integration testing, UAT, and deployment activities.
• Resolve production issues and provide business support.
• Deliver user training and knowledge-transfer sessions.
• Support audit and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• CA, CMA, CPA, ACCA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualification preferred.

Experience

• 6-10 years of SAP FI consulting experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP FI configuration experience.
• Strong experience within commodity-focused industries.
• Experience in at least two full lifecycle SAP implementation projects.
• Proven experience supporting SAP S/4HANA Finance initiatives.
