Your work profile

The SAP ABAP Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting SAP ABAP solutions across SAP modules. The role includes development of reports, interfaces, forms, enhancements, and technical objects while ensuring performance, scalability, and alignment with business requirements in ECC and S/4HANA systems.

Key Responsibilities

ABAP Development

• Develop and enhance custom ABAP objects, including:
• Reports (Classical, Interactive, ALV)
• Module Pool (Dialog Programming)
• Enhancements (User exits, BADI, Enhancements Framework)
• Forms (SAPScript, SmartForms, Adobe Forms)
• Develop and support RFC‑based programs, BAPIs, and Function Modules
• Perform code optimization and performance tuning
• Follow SAP development standards and best practices

Interfaces & Integrations

• Design and develop interfaces using:
• IDocs (Inbound / Outbound)
• File‑based integration
• ALE / EDI scenarios
• Proxy / Web Services (SOAP / REST – exposure preferred)
• Handle error monitoring and reprocessing for interfaces

S/4HANA & Advanced ABAP

• Develop CDS Views (Basic, Interface, Consumption)
• Work with AMDP and Open SQL optimizations
• Perform code remediation for S/4HANA compatibility
• Support and enhance embedded analytics using CDS and annotations
• Experience with OData services and SAP Gateway integration

SAP FIORI & UI Integration (Preferred)

• Develop and support backend OData services for SAP FIORI apps
• Work collaboratively with FIORI/UI5 teams
• Support authorization checks and performance tuning for UI apps

Development Lifecycle & Support

• Participate in requirement discussions and technical solution design
• Prepare:
• Technical design documents (TDD)
• Unit test cases and technical documentation
• Support:
• Unit testing, Integration testing, and UAT cycles
• Transport management and go‑live support
• Provide L2/L3 production support and root‑cause analysis
• Coordinate with functional and Basis teams

Key skills required: 

• Strong hands‑on experience in ABAP programming
• Solid knowledge of:
• Data Dictionary (DDIC)
• Open SQL
• Performance optimization techniques
• Experience in:
• Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms (RICEF)
• Knowledge of:
• SAP authorization concepts
• Debugging techniques (ABAP Debugger)

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
• Ability to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and in team environments
• Educational Qualifications: Any Bachelors
