Job Title:  Intern | Global Trade Advisory (GTA) | Pune | Indirect Tax

Assist in ensuring Import-Export programs align with EU customs regulations, international trade laws, and internal compliance procedures.Support in reviewing import/export documents to validate the accuracy of data declared to customs authorities.Conduct preliminary legal research on customs regulations, preferential trade agreements, and export control regimes.Track and summarize updates on changes in international trade laws, including amendments to the Union Customs Code (UCC), WTO rulings, and EU trade defense measures.Help maintain Import/Export databases and compile data for senior management reports and customs audits.Assist in preparing and organizing supportive documentation for certificates of origin, preferential origin declarations, and related filings.Learn and apply principles of HTS classification, customs valuation methods (e.g., transaction value, computed value), and rules of origin.Support the team in ensuring all Import/Export documents are systematically archived as per EU legal and audit requirements.Shadow cross-functional coordination calls with logistics, legal, and supply chain teams to understand practical trade compliance operations.Provide assistance in compiling responses to post-clearance audit queries and reviewing customs correspondences.Aid in analyzing trade data to support customs optimization strategies and identification of duty-saving opportunities.Participate in internal training sessions on INCOTERMS, AEO requirements, and key customs clearance procedures.Help monitor legal deadlines and licensing timelines, ensuring regulatory actions are tracked and escalated when required.Prepare first drafts of compliance trackers, legal templates, and audit checklists under supervision.
