Platform Software Engineer - Kubernetes

The team

Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, builds intelligent radiation therapy platforms that improve cancer-care

outcomes globally. Our platform engineering team implements and maintains a Kubernetes-based platform deployed on

customer premises. The platform hosts containerised medical applications and addresses cross-cutting concerns,

including authentication, logging, and storage.

Your work profile

As a Platform Software Engineer, you will implement features for the Kubernetes-based medical platform using

PowerShell, Bash, and YAML, and contribute to platform-engineering activities through Azure DevOps and Git. You will

troubleshoot installation and deployment issues raised by platform consumers and deliver SDLC artefacts in Jama.

You will play a key role in the continued implementation of a customer-premises Kubernetes platform that hosts

containerised medical applications, working closely with the engineering team to ensure platform reliability, security, and

performance.

Key skills required:

• Proficiency in writing clean scripts using Bash, PowerShell, or both

• Experience developing web services, ideally using C# / .NET

• Hands-on experience with Git and Azure DevOps

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience containerising applications using Docker and Helm

• Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Microsoft Azure

• Experience developing software for regulated environments, preferably medical devices
